This site is dedicated to Don Herbert books.  Don was a Christian Minister and a hospital chaplain.  During his short life he helped hundreds of ill and dying people.  

Don was not a preacher he was a doer.  He spoke as a friend, sharing his experiences in coping with terminal illness.  His style of grief counselling was unique.  He spoke about Jesus and read from the Bible.   He was certainly of  one the greatest Australian ministers I have ever met.  One Christian pastor who would certainly receive Jesus approval., 

Don wrote several Christian books which speak about faith and courage and determination.  These books are not available in Christian or religious bookshops in Australia.

A good Christian and a great friend

Don Herbert was a true Christian and a devoted Servant of God. What impressed me about him was his unstoppable drive and distinct sense of humour. Despite his grave illness, which virtually choked him to death, he continued ministering to the sick and the dying. I can still see him zipping around the hospital wards in his motorized scooter--a huge oxygen bottle trailing behind.

One evening I called him after finding out his condition had deteriorated greatly. Don's only complaint was that he was no longer able to minister to the dying and the sick. I was astonished when he asked me if I could help him set up a small radio broadcasting service so he could continue his work from his bed. I agreed to help but Jesus took him back before we could start the new project.

His ability to forgive was amazing. During one of my visits to his hospital bed, Don appeared grieved. He told me how some "Christian" visitors had accused him of not having enough faith in God. According to these fools, Don was dying because of his lack of faith. I was furious, but Don said, "hey, come to think of it they said the same thing about Jesus, who am I to complain." His face lit up and he said "Alex, I don't believe God sends disease to His children, I know they are wrong, I am going to pray for them so that they may be saved".

I know Don is still around in spirit, encouraging, ministering and serving the Lord. As  I expected, death has had no effect whatsoever to the work of Pastor Don Herbert!

Don wrote two beautiful books which have been a source of inspiration  to many lonely, sick and dying people. Please help Pastor Don Herbert continue his ministering work. Buy and help distribute his books.
